OVERVIEW
Introducing the Digital Diploma

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new digital education platform, designed and built by academics at the New College of the Humanities (NCH), with the financial backing of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and other supporters.

The Digital Diploma is an online version of the NCH Diploma, which is studied by all undergraduates at the College. The NCH Diploma complements, enriches and further contextualises a degree, equipping students with an intelligent understanding of the core concepts, arguments and theories that underpin the study of the humanities.

ASTRONOMY
The History of Astronomy
How did our knowledge of the planets, the solar system and the stars develop? As part of the Digital Diploma, the History of Astronomy module looks at how our theories of the cosmos have developed since the ancient Greeks - and shows how wrong these early ideas were.
PRESS
Launching the Digital Diploma

The NCH Digital Diploma is being unveiled on Friday 29th June 2018 at an event hosted by Professor A C Grayling, Master of the College. The launch includes a demonstration of the digital platform by Dr Naomi Goulder, Head of Faculty and Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, Dr Fintan Nagle and Dr Ioannis Votsis, Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Programme Director for Critical Reasoning & Science Literacy.

The College’s ambition is for the platform to aid digital learning among outreach audiences. To support this objective, the day’s events also include a demonstration of the platform to a group of year 12 students from two London-based, state schools.
